Why are we interested in this idea?
The solar panels are mounted on a large float which is then anchored to the floor of the reservoir. The depth of the water helps to keep the panels cool which increases their efficiency. The system also has the added benefit of shading the water beneath it which helps to reduce evaporation and keeps the water cooler.
